The repair of the nuclear sub Dmitry Donskoy is nearing completion. All major works have been finished. JSC Promstroibank has facilitated the upgrading project acting as its sponsor. Vice President of the Promstroibank Vladimir Blank has become an honorable member of the sub’s crew. The sub with the serial number 711 is preparing for the sailing tests. According to the Assistant of the Deputy General Director of Promstroibank Vladimir Balakirev the bank is an active sponsor for the crews of the Northern Fleet and regional manufacturers. In particular the bank opened a privileged credit line for Sevmash and ensures transactions under the 711 order. Anatoly Shlemov, the head of the shipbuilding dept. of the navy, says that sponsorship is a great input to the development of the navy. Sponsors care not only about direct financing technical aspects, but assisting the development of the navy related social infrastructure. It turned out that the Akula (Shark) subs are the most popular among sponsors. Last year the city of Arhangelsk took over the fifth sub of the series, the sixth and the last serial Shark is named after Severstal. According to Promstroibank the information about bank’s sponsorship in the north raised the rating of the bank in St. Petersburg among ordinary clients.
