Varshavyanka subs bought by Indonesia from Russia are likely to carry the integrated rocket system Club-S. This system is presented at the second international exhibition of arms in Djakarta INDO DEFENCE-2006. "In case Indonesia signs the contract on the submarines, we shall be ready to arm these ships with unique rocket system "Club-S", said deputy chief dept for foreign of OKB Novator Valery Pantjuhin. He pointed out that there is interest in Indonesia and for this reason the decision to show the missile at the exhibition was taken.
According to V.Pantjuhin Club-S is already delivered to India and China. "With a number of other countries negotiations are carried on". Club-S has four rockets: two anti ship 3Ì-54Ý and 3Ì-54Ý1, one anti sub of two modifications - 91ÐÝ1/91ÐÒÝ2 and the cruise missile for ground purposes - 3Ì-14Ý. All rockets, except for 91ÐÒÝ2, can start from 533 mm from torpedo tubes.
Minister of Defense of Indonesia Dzhuvono Sudarsono announced the intention to buy Russian submarines within the limits of the $1 billion credit given by Moscow. It was said before opening the exhibition. Indonesia will get in 2007-2010 six Su fighters, two Kilo submarines and nine helicopters of various types.
At INDO DEFENCE-2006 Russia presents frigates of the projects 11356, 11541 and 11661, family multi-purpose corvettes, including the newest project 20382 air cushion project 1239. Special role is given the frigate Gepard 3.9. This ship is built using the newest technologies "stealth", constructional materials, element base and computers. Displacement of the frigate is 2.100 tons, speed - 28 knots, endurance - about 5.000 miles.
Air cushion project 12322 "Zubr" and 12061Ý "Murena" have big export prospects in the region.
Because of the trend in many navies to increase the volume of operations in coastal zones the export potential of Russian rocket and patrol boats also increases. The rocket boat "Molniya", patrol boats "Mongoose", "Sobol", "Mirage" and "Svetlyak" with the displacement from 10 up to 550 tons can go as fast as 50 knots.
Alongside with the combat ships ROE offers ship systems of arms, many of which have no foreign analogies. Among them are ship rocket complex "Uran-E", antiaircraft rocket complexes "Rif-M", "Shtil-1" and "Klinok" as well as other rocket, artillery, torpedo and mine arms.
We already feel the big interest to the samples of the weapons presented, - said special envoy of ROE Nikolay Dimidyuk. He noted, that ROE considers Indonesia as a serious partner in the sphere of military-technical cooperation. This is why Russian exporters participate in the exhibition. "We seriously prepared for this exhibition. At last exhibition ROE rented 180-200 square meters of the areas and there were 8 enterprises represented. Now we rent over 300 meters and represent more than 15 enterprises".
As he said, participants of the exhibition show big interest to the floating infantry carrier BMP-3F. “This year we have very actively worked on this subject. Before the BMP-3Fwas demonstrated to the marines’ experts of Indonesia. A bigger presentation takes place for the command of Naval Forces of Indonesia.
The President of Indonesia will visit Russia on Nov, 29 –Dec, 1.
