30.01.2007 14:30
According to the head of the company of V.G.Dzhajaprakasan the contract on repairing some electronic blocks and modules of the two project 11356 frigates and Ka-31 helicopters has been recently concluded. Russian experts will come to India in the end of January for implementing this project. Creating a complete infrastructure for the ship services of the basic classes is to be finished finish the nearest two years.
ROE passed over some functions to ROS (I) regarding the warranty services for the delivered hardware. For example, two frequency converters on the project 1135.6 frigates recently went out of order (each cost 440 thousand USD) and they have been replaced free of charge under the guarantee certificates of ROE. ROS (I) also did warranty repair of the Il-38 planes.
Recently ROS (I) has bought a service station for the helicopters Ka-31, which is placed in Goa. By the end of January three experts from "Kamov" will arrive there to adjust it. The station will be supplied in the near future with spare parts from Russia. Warranty services for the helicopters Ka-31, frigates of the project 11356 and diesel subs of the project 877EKM will be provided at Indian enterprises.
In the field of the warrantee services ROS (I), ROE and Baltic Shipyard have signed the agreement according to which ROS (I) will be the main contractor for the Navy of India on the services and repair of the project 11356 frigates. This scheme has been approved by the Russian government. Now ROS (I) looks forward to the answer from the Indian Navy.
Mr. Dzhajaprakasan emphasized that earlier purchase of spare parts was problematic enough. This is why ROS (I) has convinced the Russian party to make the catalogues of the equipment. ROE has already given to the Indian Navy a database of the spares for the project 877EKM sub and project 1135.6 frigates.
The main contract for ROS (I) in 2006 was the order for the restoration of the blades of Ka-31. Earlier in such cases of Indian Navy used to send the blades to Russia for repair, which was costly enough. ROS (I) also considers it as achievement when the company replaced 39 sets of electronic equipment of the project 15 frigates and project 25 corvettes.
The nearest plans ROS (I) include creating three service centers for naval aircraft, submarines and surface ships in Goa, Visakapatnam and Mumbai. All the centers will be united in a network, both among themselves and with the Russian suppliers of spare parts. After some more consultations with the Indian Navy ROS (I) plans to create a network of the training centers. The final stage of the development of the company’s infrastructure should be full-fledged legal status of the partner of the Indian Navy.
According to Mr. Dzhajaprakasan ROS (I) will finish the current fiscal year (on March, 31st) with small profit and a quite good portfolio of orders.
