Shipbuilding branch requires development due to the official statement of the Ministry of Industry

The share of shipbuilding branch exceeds a quarter of total output of Russian MIC, and in military export it is about 20-30%. "The general number of the employees in the branch without contractors is about 200 thousand persons. V.Hristenko, the Minister of Industry Informed that Russian Strategy of the Development of Shipbuilding for the period till 2030 is directed, first of all, on the development of civil shipbuilding, development and serial production of the hi-tech and specialized ships and units.

This was announced nearly at the same time as the President of Russia Vladimir Putin demanded doubling the investments into the main assets of the Russian manufacturers by 2010. The investment must be doubled in comparison with 2006. The President also noted, that in dollar equivalent the growth of investments into main assets in Russia in the near four years should make $40 billion. Besides the president considers that the state, as the main shareholder of many industrial assets, should influence the industrial environment more, and demanded to finish in the near future re-structuring of the assets of large holdings in aircraft construction, microelectronics and MIC. He emphasized, that «construction of holdings never was and cannot be just a goal in itself ». «Integration is justified only when it helps the enterprises to raise profitability and to expand presence in the market. And consequently the heads of holdings should achieve these basic purposes».
