According to the MP the conversation was more detailed, than during «the governmental hour» of the State Duma on Wednesday, February, 14th when the Minister of Industry Victor Khristenko's reported on the plans of the government. «United Russia» intends to support creating three centers of shipbuilding: in Northwest, the North and the Far East. Development of the Caspian center of shipbuilding is supposed too. Speaking about the development of the shipbuilding branch A.Kokoshin noted that the potential has been preserved and it is necessary to exclude duplication and senseless ambitions in all directions, to concentrate around CNII Krylov ÖÍÈÈ and bring in there the remaining science.

Making comments on horizontal integration, A.Kokoshin agreed that it is not necessary to do all ourselves, the main thing that in an final product should have 70-80 % of domestic input. Then the basic part of the income will come to Russian companies. There are many individual firms ready to cooperate, however, there are no friends at the international level. There is tough competition among shipbuilding powers - Japan, South Korea and China. In Kokoshin's opinion, it is necessary to follow their example and create new technologies.

The problem with the skilled staff is different at different places. Northern Shipyard the situation with the staff looks not bad. However, the problem of the staff demands attention. Some shipyards have much worse situation. Certainly, modernization of the manufacture provides for retraining of personnel. «In this sphere we will help them in every possible way» - A.Kokoshin told. He added that the Duma has certain control function, “sometimes it is possible to ask Sergey Stepashin (the chairman of the Auditing Chamber) to help”.
