Krasnoe Sormovo for Italy

Nizhniy Novgorod based Krasnoe Sormovo (part of MNP) finished a new tanker «Maya» for the Italian shipping company Pietro Barbaro S.A. The contract on the construction of two tankers was concluded in August, 2005. Tankers «Electra» and «Klimena» were delivered to the customer in June, 2006. Then the contract was prolonged for the third tanker. It was laid down on October, 16th, 2006 and according to the conditions of the contract the vessel should be delivered to the customer not later than June, 30th, 2007. The shipyard was three weeks ahead of the schedule.

The double hulled ships has the following characteristics: deadweight - five thousand tons, length - 140 m, beam – 16 m, height of board – 6 m, draught – 3,5 m, carrying capacity – 5,2 thousand tons, speed – not less than 10 knots, endurance - 12 days, area of navigation - internal waterways ("river-sea"), sea not Arctic areas according to the class of the vessel. The tanker can carry five various cargoes simultaneously, including crude oil, oil products, diesel fuel, grease.
