Vladivostok Ship Repair Plants ceased its existence

The meeting of shareholders of this JSC decided to close down the shipyard. According to the press release the enterprise is “liquidated voluntary, with the consent of all shareholders”. According to the annual report of the plant the liquidation of the joint-stock company is explained by the drastic decline in the number of ships in the Far East which need the services of the plant. The documents says that out of over two hundred the ship-repair enterprises of Primorski Krai which worked in 2003 – 2005 in the end of 2006 only three ship-repair enterprises which have own berths, industrial workshops really work. They are Dalzavod, Nahodka Ship Repair Plant and Slavyansky Plant. In the future the infrastructure of Vladivostok Ship Repair Plant will be used for transshipment of cars.
