Ukraine also wants new corvettes

In the near future Ukrainian navy will get several national designed and built corvettes, said the President of the Ukraine Victor Yushchenko at the press-conferences in Sevastopol. "This project, he emphasized, is already formed, and it will be a series of ships financed from the state budget". The President also noted that existing military ships will be upgraded. Yushchenko believes that the Ukrainian Navy "is in an active phase, has a complete set and provided with everything necessary". During the recent celebration of the 15-th anniversary of the Ukrainian Navy the head of the state had the opportunity to see part of the 28 military ships of the Navy". All are modern ships but the progress in naval industry forces Ukraine to upgrade its Navy.
