Yantar launched the Indian project

Kaliningrad based shipyard Yantar, part of the Concern for Medium and Small Tonnage Shipbuilding, laid down the head project 1135.6 frigate for Navy of India. The head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexander Burutin, the Ambassador of the Republic of India in Russia Canval Sibal, the assistant to the General Director of Rosoboronexport Vladimir Pahomov, Commander of the Baltic Fleet Vice-Admiral Konstantin Sidenko, General Director of KSMK Michael Heifits attended the ceremony. For this contract Yantar had invested considerable means in modernization of the manufacturing infrastructure, bought a lot of modern equipment. Construction of the frigates will be completed in 2012.
