Complex of Test Rigs for Research on the Major Aspects of Marine Radar and Laser Detection & Ranging
Technology of Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute
1. Test Rig for Sonar Simulation of Radar Images
|
The facility serves to determine radar characteristics of marine objects (naval and commercial ships, low-flying aircraft and missiles, submarine towed systems), surface vehicles (tanks, armoured personnel carriers, etc.) and aircraft, including radar cross-section characteristics in wide wavelength ranges of (2,5 - 18)·10-2 m with pulse durations of (0,05 - 1)·10-6 s and elevation angles of 0,5 - 70° C, radar profiles with resolutions from 20 x 20 to 1 x 1 m in full scale.

2. Electromagnetic Simulation Test Rig for External Marine Radar Tasks
- provides for measuring radar signatures of ship models from full size to the scale ratio of 1:300 with software extrapolation to full-scale wave lengths from 0,3 to 10 m;
- simulated elevation angles 0,5 - 7°C;
- simulated sea states 0 - 4;
- minimum identified radar cross-section 10-5 - 10-2 m2

3. Light Simulation Test Rig
|
The facility enables to determine contour brightness coefficients, radar cross-sections and other optical and radar signatures of ships and other marine objects by testing their models.
Radiation wave lengths:
- when measuring optical and radar signatures of objects - (0,63; 1,15)·10-6 m and other,
- when measuring reflection coefficients of materials (0,4 - 1,2)·10-6 m and (3,5 - 14)·10-6 m.
Sensitivity in terms of the brightness coefficient: -40 - -30 dB.
